As you know today is not Thursday, my typical day for blogging. I don’t usually write on a Saturday but today is an exciting day. Dandelion Dust & Honey is 2! For me that’s something worth celebrating and obviously a reason to eat cake.   Many of you have travelled the two years with me, others have only joined recently, whatever the case I thank you for embracing Dandelion Dust & Honey with kindness and love.   I can’t imagine where the next two years will take me, but I look forward...

Fun fact about me: as a little girl I loved fairy tales and princesses. My favourite Disney princess was Ariel from the Little Mermaid. I really related to the song ‘A Part of Your World’ because it appealed to my sense of wanting to belong, not to mention she had an amazing singing voice which I wish I had. And to top it off, Ariel got to swim around in the ocean all day long – I would pretend I was a mermaid in the bathtub (ah well)....

This is my first ever travel blog post! Although I don’t want it to be your typical one. Yes I think you should all pack your bags and experience beautiful Byron Bay for yourselves; but I hope you never give up on your travel dreams. I got reminded just how sweet it is when you achieve a dream. Ticking off one from the bucket list it is an incredible feeling. I added Byron Bay to my bucket list about 2 years earlier. I discovered the clothing brand Spell &...

This morning Facebook reminded me of a memory – my 21st birthday party! Turning 21 was probably one of my favourite birthdays! It was so much fun with multiple celebrations and surprises! On the morning of my birthday I was home for present opening with family – I even got a jacaranda tree from my sister (such a beautiful tree). Next I headed down to uni for classes; it was really nice getting happy birthdays as I went through the day. With classes finished for the day I...

Last week I wrote about my own journey to embracing self – love in What Do You See? This week I would like to focus on another aspect of self – love and that is gratitude. When I began my journey of self – love it came from a negative place. I would exercise because I ‘had’ to lose weight; my relationship with food was full of anxiety (it is still something I am fighting). I had to heal and grow to be able to shift my thinking...

Self Love / 16.11.2017

When it comes to self-love I don’t pretend to have it all together. The way I have viewed my body in the past has been honestly quite sad; with such comments as ‘you are fat’, ‘your arms are too big’ and ‘your skin is too white’ were among my personal favourite criticisms of myself. When I looked in the mirror I would see someone that was way bigger than what I really was and I would look at photos of myself until they turned 'ugly' only focusing on...

Psalm 147:7-9 “Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving; make music to our God on the harp. He covers the sky with clouds; he supplies the earth with rain and makes grass grow on the hills. He provides food for the cattle and for the young ravens when they call.” I have been challenged in the meantime… be thankful. When the waiting season for me first began I really struggled with people’s expectations (real and assumed) and my own. Who was I if I was no longer a university student?...

Matthew 22:37 – 39 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ “ I have written about loving your uniquely beautiful life in Uniquely You but what about just you? Do you love you period? Or is it always attached to something? Always conditional. I could love me if I was more beautiful. I could love me if...

Exodus 19:5b “You will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine.” Do you see yourself as a treasure? Someone who is valuable and precious? If no, why is that? It wasn’t until this year I could finally start to see me as Jesus sees me – a priceless treasure worth pursuing. Before I was sure Jesus could only see my flaws, my wrong choices,  and my brokenness because that’s what I saw. I struggled to see the good. The truth Jesus had to lovingly show me was...
